Grating Efficiency

Grating efficiency

The efficiency behavior of diffraction gratings is one of the most important properties a user needs to know.

Efficiency curves for most of the gratings in the Product Tables are available by selecting the "view" link in the rightmost column.

Grating efficiency is dependent on the use conditions,

wavelength and polarization in incident light
incidence angle
diffraction order

as well as the groove profile and coating material. Efficiency curves found in this website are specific to the use conditions under which they were measured; using the same grating under different conditions will result in different efficiency performance.
